Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University (IAPNU) welcomed the first-year students of BArch batch of 2019-24.
The five-day-long orientation programme was from August 19 to August 23, 2019. The programme aimed at introducing the new students to the field of architecture and helping them become part of the University.
The programme had an interactive session of the students and the faculty members. Prof Utpal Sharma, Director, IAPNU, welcomed the students and wished them good luck for the coming years.
The institute invited experts from the University to talk on Medical Facilities, Student Welfare, Library, Student Counselling, Anti-ragging, University Rules & Regulations, and Equal opportunities. These sessions were conducted to make the students aware of the facilities and provisions available to them on the campus and their rights and duties as a student.
Eminent experts from the field of architecture and other fields were also invited to introduce the students to the creative stream of Architecture and Design. There were workshops on Miniature clay art, Pencil & colour sketching, learning design from Theatre, Poetry, and Architecture to widen their perspective towards the field of architecture and initiate steps towards the development of their creative thinking abilities.
The five-day-long programme concluded with cultural events like dancing, singing, games, etc. organised by the Student Council, IAPNU.
