ARCASIA Student Jamboree 2025 (South Korea)

The selection process for the ARCASIA Student Jamboree 2025 was highly competitive, coordinated by the IIA Gujarat Chapter under Ar. Mauktik Trivedi. At Nirma University, students were shortlisted based on academic merit and previous semester work. Submitted portfolios were reviewed by the faculty coordinator, and interested students faced a further merit-based screening. The final interview round, led by Ar. Trivedi with candidates across Gujarat, resulted in the selection of three of our students—Divy Jajodia, Drashti Nadoda, and Vidhi Jain—to represen-t the university at this international event during Sep 8-12, 2025.

At the conference in Incheon, South Korea, they engaged in rigorous architectural workshops, site studies, and multicultural collaboration. The focus of workshop was on the sites allotted to students for the exploration. Each of the student were in different groups and were allotted different sites. Eight Group mates from different countries made their experience even more fruitfull, they analyzed urban fabric, heritage influences, and proposed design interventions reflecting the theme, “A Thousand Layers for a Better Tomorrow.” The workshop also included the expert lectures such as Architect Riken Yamamoto who is Pritzker Prize winner, participated in group presentations, and exchanged perspectives with peers from across Asia. The experience deepened thier understanding of culturally responsive design, urban regeneration, and innovative architectural practice, giving them new inspiration for their academic and professional growth.
