An expert talk on building services in architecture was organized on Sep 18, 2025. The program was specially arranged for fifth-year students as a crucial academic aid in the preparation of their design thesis. The session brought together three professionals: Mr. Ketup Prajapati from Aaradhya Building Solutions, Ar. Nehaal Kinariwala, Design Director at Studio Anecdote, and Mr. Dhruv Nayak from Sanchi Smart Care. The discussion primarily focused on the heat load requirements of buildings and the growing importance of air conditioning in modern architectural design. This was particularly relevant to students, as such knowledge is essential for preparing the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings that form a mandatory component of the final thesis submission. The experts elaborated on the different types of air-conditioning units, highlighting both indoor and outdoor systems. A significant portion of the session emphasized commercial air-conditioning solutions, explaining how they differ from smaller residential applications. The speakers also discussed the architect’s role in integrating HVAC systems seamlessly into the design of buildings, ensuring that technical requirements do not compromise aesthetic intent.
