CoA National Awards 2025 hosted by IAPNU

The Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University (IAPNU), hosted the Council of Architecture (CoA) National Awards for Excellence in Architecture 2025 on October 13-14, 2025. The event celebrated academic and professional excellence through three national-level competitions — the Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis (AEAT) for undergraduate students, the Post Graduate Thesis Awards (PGTA), and the Awards for Excellence in Documentation of Architectural Heritage (DAH). Instituted by the CoA–Training and Research Centre (CoA-TRC), these competitions continued to receive overwhelming participation from institutions across India. The awards recognized innovation in design, advanced research, and documentation of India’s architectural heritage. AEAT honored outstanding undergraduate theses; PGTA acknowledged master’s-level research on sustainability, urban transformation, and emerging technologies; and DAH celebrated exemplary documentation of historic buildings, crafts, and cultural landscapes.

The event began with the inauguration of an exhibition showcasing shortlisted works and remained open to the public for two days. On 14th October, an open jury across all three categories encouraged interaction and transparency, followed by a valedictory ceremony announcing the national winners. The occasion was graced by CoA President Ar. Abhay Purohit, Vice President Ar. Gajanand Ram, and CoA-TRC Director Ar. Jayashree Deshpande. It was held under the guidance of Prof. Rekha Chandran Jetty, Director of IAPNU, with coordination by Prof. Tanushri Mokde and Prof. Sujan Umaraniya. By hosting the CoA Awards, IAPNU reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, research, and collaboration between academia and practice in architecture and planning.
