Ahmedabad, March 11, 2026 — NIRMA CUP 2026, an Inter-University Sports Tournament, was successfully conducted from 8th to 11th March 2026 at the Nirma University campus. The event was organized by the Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University (IAPNU) under the aegis of the Students’ Welfare Board.
The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and inter-university engagement. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from 18 universities, with over 400 players competing across cricket, football, volleyball, and basketball.
In the tournament results, Nirma University secured the winner’s position in Basketball (Men) and finished as runner-up in both Football (Men) and Volleyball (Women). Ahmedabad University emerged as the winner in Football (Men) and Volleyball (Women). Sankalchand Patel University won Volleyball (Men), while L J University clinched the title in Cricket (Men).
The event was conducted in a competitive yet spirited environment, reflecting high levels of skill and teamwork among participants. The university authorities extended their support and guidance throughout the event. The tournament was held under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Chandran Rekha Jetty, Chairman of NIRMA CUP 2026 and Director, IAPNU. The event coordination was led by Prof. Ar. Biswanath Mudi, along with the Sports Students’ Committee.
The Students’ Welfare team, Estate, and Security Departments were also acknowledged for their effective support and management. The university congratulated all participants and winners for contributing to the grand success of the event.
