Call for entries for the Competition of Logo Design for IAPNU’s Student Research Journal – SANDARBH
Purpose:
The Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University invites entries from all PG, UG Final year Students and Faculty members
About the Journal:
- Name: Sandarbh
- Focus:Student research in the domain of architecture and the built environment.
- Audience:students, academicians, scholars, researchers, and the broader academic community.
- Core Values:knowledge, innovation, creativity, integrity, and collaboration.
- Meaning of ‘SANDARBH’:The word “Sandarbh” means context or reference in several Indian languages. It is a core idea in the domains of architecture, design and planning that lay heavy emphasis on the context or setting – be it the physical, socio-cultural, temporal – and several layers thereof. The word also symbolizes the importance of research as a cornerstone of knowledge and understanding.
Design Requirement:
- The concept:
- Resonates with the meaning of “SANDARBH”described earlier in reference to the built environment and research.
- Relevant to the theme of knowledge (creation and dissemination of).
- Symbolizes creativity and collaboration.
- Style:
- Simple and clean.
- Visually appealing.
- Avoid clichés and overly complex graphics.
- Elements:
- Incorporate abstract or symbolic elements representing research in the multiple domains of built environment.
- Text:
- Include the journal name “SANDARBH” prominently.
- Colour Scheme:
- Preferably monochromatic.
- Avoid overly bright or flashy colours.
Technical Specifications:
- Format: vector format (.AI,.EPS, or high-resolution.PDF).
- Include both colouredand black & white
- Ensure scalability for use in digital and print formats.
Eligibility:
- Open for all the students and faculty members of Institute of Architecture and Planning Nirma University (Individuals or teams of two)
Timeline:
- Submission Deadline:(15th February, 2025)
- Results Announcement:(during KALP in the first week of March, 2025)
Submission Guidelines:
- Submit your logo design to sandarbhjournal@nirmauni.ac.inwith the subject: SANDARBH Logo Submission.
- Include a brief concept note (max 150 words) explaining your design and its relevance to the journal’s values.
Judging Criteria:
- Creativity and originality.
- Relevance to the journal’s purpose and name.
- Aesthetic appeal and professionalism.
- Scalability and technical execution.
Prize:
- Winner:Cash prize of Rs.10,000/- with certificate and journal feature.
- Runners-up:Recognition certificates.
