Prof. Dr. Hugo Lopes Farias, President of the Scientific Council and also Coordinator of the PhD program and Prof. Dr. Pedro Lima Gaspar, Assistant Professor and also Lecturer in the Master’s and PhD courses, from Lisbon School of Architecture, University of Lisbon, Portugal visited the Institute of Architecture and Planning Nirma University in July, 2026. Director, Dr. (Ar.) Chandran Rekha Jetty addressed them and presented the institute’s activities and pedagogy along with the possible areas for collaboration.
Several collaborative activities, exchange of faculty members and students, and joint research activities between the two institutes were discussed at undergraduate, post-graduate and PhD programs, and an MoU was finalized between the two institutes. In addition, a meeting with the Director of the Institute of Design was also scheduled to discuss the possibility of future collaboration.
Professor Jaydeep Bhagat coordinated the collaboration activities and MoU, various interaction sessions with students and faculty members, and an orientation to architectural sites and landmarks led by reputed architects in Ahmedabad.
