Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University (IAPNU) organized KALP 2026, the annual Techno-Cultural Fest, from February 23 to 26, 2026. The festival was formally inaugurated by Dr. Narottam Sahoo, Advisor and Member Secretary, GUJCOST, and Prof. Dr. Christian Schmidle, Dean at THWS, Germany, marking a significant international and interdisciplinary approach to architectural education.
A central cornerstone of the festival was the student work exhibition, which displayed a vast and diverse collection of architectural drawings, intricately crafted models, and design explorations. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ar. Ashish Sompura, followed by his insightful keynote presentation regarding the temple architecture of the Ram Mandir, Ayodhya. This created a unique dialogue between traditional heritage and the contemporary theme of “Pixelated,” bridging historical craftsmanship with modern architectural discourse.
“KALP 2026 stands as a testament to the dedication, creativity, and academic rigor that defines the legacy of Nirma University. It was inspiring to see students take full ownership, demonstrating their ability to deconstruct complex themes into a curated exhibition of this scale,” stated the Faculty Coordinators. By weaving together professional expertise, international perspectives, and student innovation, the showcase reinforced KALP’s status as a premier platform for fostering critical architectural dialogue.
