The faculty members of the Institute of Architecture and Planning regularly take part in various training programmes organised within and outside the University. This year the IAPNU is organising a faculty development programme on Urban Housing. A housing design project differs from other projects as it requires a mix of functional and problem solving approach along with an ability to create private and public environments for people to dwell. Also, a search for appropriate solutions for Housing design needs an understanding of multiple layers of sociology, economy, psychology, culture finance, technology, etc. In this programme the faculty members will work in group to learn from each other and improve their design skills with the help of experts from academics and practice. The programme aims to explore design of appropriate urban housing solutions based on a thorough understanding of the changing and ever evolving socio cultural and economic situations of Indian cities
